If you follow me on Social Media you will know that a few weeks back I had nearly all my Photographic gear stolen. I was taking my daughter to see around Manchester University and planned to head on up to meet some other Instagrammers to shoot the Lake District. I parked the car with some care and made sure all was covered but the scumbags smashed the rear quarterlight to see what was in there and then the rear window.
I’m not the sort of person who values “stuff” but I really value my hobby. The whole experience has been a massive pain in the arse. My insurance company initially said I had a £1000 limit as the gear was in the car but thanks to a very kind lady I met through Instagram we got this overturned. I spent 5 days thinking I’d lost the lot but now all is good and I have ordered my new system.
Another thing which happened is a lady who works for Fujifilm UK very kindly offered me one of their loan systems for two weeks. She offered anything from their range. To be honest I was blown away by this act of kindness and of course, I had to choose their Professional GFX-50s. This is a 50-megapixel medium format beauty. It’s a dream to shoot with. For my first shoot, I decided to revisit the Somerset Lavender Farm just outside of Bath.
It rained earlier in the day but just towards sunset the weather cleared so I grabbed my stuff… or rather their stuff and headed over. I was stuck behind the slowest Taxi Driver known to mankind so got there a little late.
